Rich patterns and deep blues give PDX to the World – Istanbul its distinctive character.

Reclaimed denim and vintage textiles are combined with the graphic geometry of the PDX carpet. Hand-stitched sashiko echoes the concentric circles of the traditional Turkish nazar boncuğu – the familiar blue-and-white eye-shaped amulet associated with protection from the evil eye.

The repeated circular stitching adds rhythm and movement to the composition, connecting a centuries-old protective symbol with the textures of reclaimed cloth and denim.
