An idea appeared during a walk and became a finished object the same day.
The story behind the piece imagines old Christmas trees that survived the holidays.
Nobody cut them down.
Nobody dragged them to the curb.
They stayed alive, kept growing year after year, and slowly became enormous evergreen homes for tiny birds.
Now, somewhere high in their branches, hidden nests sway in the spring wind while small birds sing morning songs between old needles and soft shadows.
The loose stitching and wandering lines are intentional – like traces of birdsong drifting through trees that were once meant to disappear.
A quiet wearable story about survival, time, and small living things finding a home.
